Amber and Kylee kicking back before the big feast...
Our neighborhood Turkey Bowl that Russ put together last minute:
Can Rhett keep Russ from getting the pass?
Go, Drew, go!
Great smiles from my baby bro and baby sis:
Travis and Melanie
Oh, I am so glad Mom is making the gravy...I don't think mine from a package would have been quite the same as this made from the flavorful turkey drippings!
Great-grandpa overseeing Russ' turkey carving job...
Amber and Melanie striking a pose...Is this the "Blue Steel"?!
Crystal, Melissa and Travis
Melissa working on her gingerbread house --
This is a fun tradition Mom/Grandma started with us several years ago. She even painstakingly bakes all of the gingerbread house pieces and whips up the frosting which hardens into a cement-like substance to keep the houses solid through the Christmas Season (well, at least until we start picking at and eating them!). Everyone brings a treat-decoration to share, and then we go to work...
Now how fair is it that Crystal is a professional cake decorator?!
Her and Travis' house was incredible.
The crew with their completed gingerbread houses (this doesn't show the floor-to-ceiling mess we left in the process of creating such magnificent artwork!).

Um...and actually, mine and Amber's was the best. Don't you remember the North Pole with the Polar Express? (Yes..train, tracks, the whole thing) We even had decorated Christmas trees and used a Keebler Elf.
Doesn't get much better than that!
But it actually does get better... we even had snow on the ground.. we melted marshmallows, spread them on the board to make a shiny yet natural look to finalize our master piece. And that wasn't easy, we had sticky marshmallow all over us that wasn't easy to get off.. now that's dedication!
And it keeps getting better--
We even made a wreath to hang above Santa's Workshop at the North Pole-- I don't know about you, but I would call that talent! ;)
Not only did we have a wreath for Santa so he could have a warm welcome home, but we even had ordaments hung on the trees outside. Each one hand glued on with frosting. What patience one must have to do that. wow.
As if all of that wasn't enough... you should have seen our reindeer! That's right--reindeer. (2 of them to be exact)
If we hadn't created the whole thing out of candy, I would've been confused thinking we were actually there ;)
Sounds like a GOOD Gingerbread House for amateurs. I wouldn't even begin to compare it to the GREAT Gingerbread House Crystal made. I guess some people have talent that puts them into a whole other class.
That's right, a whole other class--one above and beyond that of your own! ;)
If i remember right, we BOTH won. Now wait a sec Trav, if we tied then we're obvioulsly on the same level. So does that make you GOOD? Or us GREAT? :)
I think i left Trav speechless :)
